Students will explore how motion sensors and gears combine with code to bring the LEGO to life.
Learning Objectives:
- Learn how to code a simple programme to get LEGO creations to move.
- Combine coding and construction to get a LEGO model to move using sensors.
We offer three separate workshops related to coding and LEGO constructing.
Our Cooling Fan workshop is aimed at younger students as an introduction on how to build with LEGO using instructions. Students will then use the WeDo2.0 software to create a simple programme to get the fan to rotate. Once built and coded extra challenges from our presenters can push students further.
Our Milo the Robot workshop is designed for students with little coding experience but adds a little more of a building challenge compared to the Cooling Fan. The workshop involves motors and sensors and can easily be expanded.
The Lunar Rover workshop is best for older primary school students with building a complex model then coding motors and sensors to guide the rover over the surface of the moon.
